The Fun(d) for Life – Edisi Uni (FFL-Uni) programme aims to empower B40 youths with practical financial management skills through financial literacy training and coaching, preparing them to responsibly manage a RM3,000 cash transfer grant upon completion.
Launched in January 2025, the programme targets 500 Malaysian students aged 18â24, currently studying in colleges and universities under MoE and MoHE, and coming from B40 households. The programme aims to positively impact 10,000 beneficiaries nationwide.
To ensure meaningful engagement and stronger peer support, the 500 students will be divided into 7 cohorts, each based on different regions to ensure equal access to opportunities.
Each cohort will participate in 3 months of training, followed by 3 months of grant management, which includes a post-programme survey and interview to assess the sustainability of their financial habits. In partnership with the ASEAN Research Center, Asia School of Business (ASB), we are co-developing impact measurement tools focusing on effective cash-plus interventions for B40 youth.
To qualify for the RM3,000 grant, participants must complete five programme components:
- 3-day in-person financial literacy bootcamp
- Daily financial diary and weekly reflections for 3 months
- Monthly online coaching sessions for 3 months
- Community project: 8 hours of financial-literacy-themed activities benefiting at least 20 individuals
- Final presentation showcasing their learning journey and RM3,000 financial plan
By equipping students with essential knowledge, skills, and support, the programme aims to strengthen their financial management practices. The grant serves as a savings catalyst, helping participants navigate university life and early adulthood with greater financial confidence.
Fun(d) for Life – Edisi Uni (FFL-Uni) is made possible with the support of FWD Insurance and runs from 2025â2026.
