In classrooms across Malaysia, teachers are navigating not only academic demands but increasing emotional needs among students. Many shared that while they could teach content, they lacked the training to support students dealing with lack of communication skills, stress, conflict, and emotional regulation. Without structured SEL, teachers depend on instinct rather than evidence-based tools, and students struggle to manage emotions that affect focus, behaviour, and learning outcomes.
Program Guru KARISMA (Aug 2024 â May 2025) Led by Arus Academy (funded by Yayasan Hasanah), this 10-month initiative integrates Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) into Malaysian schools, aligned with the 2027 Curriculum.
The Reach: Empowered 70 core teachers (5 states) and 800+ educators nationwide via the MOEâs DELIMa platform.
The Innovation: Developed a gamified SEL Toolkit featuring 50+ techniques for real-time classroom behavior support.
The Impact: Culminated in a 344-person SEL Summit. Alumni now drive systemic change as 2027 Character Curriculum contributors and national SEL trainers.
