Powerful Lessons That Can Change The World
In 2015, world leaders agreed to 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These goals are to guide us to end poverty, fight inequality and address the urgency of climate change by the year 2030.
Through the GCED projects, students get to explore the roles they can play to help the world achieve these goals in time. In this collaborative projects between the Ministry of Education, Malaysia and UNICEF Malaysia, The GCED projects allow students to dive deeper into current world issues and learn to solve real-world problems using knowledge gained from Malaysia’s national curriculum. Students get to explore each lesson through a global citizen lens where they analyse the issue presented from a local to the global perspective and find solutions that can help us reach the SDG goals in time.
There are 4 subjects that students can choose from; Mathematics, Science, History and Geography. Each subject has 5 projects that are tied to at least 1 SDG as the central theme.
